Day at the Museum

Ben and I went into DC today to sight see. It was the most gorgeous day! Love it!

We hit up the Natural History Museum and the Jefferson Memorial. The (ONE) thing I like about living in Maryland is having so many great museums and sights so close to us! I have always loved DC and am really going to try and see as much as I can while here πŸ™‚IMG_0943IMG_0954

We stopped and got a Honey Crisp Apple. These are amazing – I wish they weren’t so expensive!DSCN1991

Lunch on the road…PB&J, carrots. I knew we would be eating out for dinner and didn’t want to do that for lunch too!DSCN1994

We went out for Indian Food for dinner. I love this stuff! We started with a mixed appetizer plate. It didn’t describe what the mixed appetizers were – turns out all the fried stuff 😦 The samosa was really good and I ate some of the other stuff too.IMG_0962

I ordered Chan Masala, Rice and Naan. The waiter served us each of the dishes as he brought them to the table. He insisted on putting some of Ben’s lamb on my plate. I tried to tell him I didn’t want any, but there was a language barrier and he insisted it was good. I took the pic and then gave it to Ben πŸ™‚ IMG_0968

I’m currently blogging and enjoying some TJ’s tart frozen yogurt with granola πŸ™‚ Good night!IMG_0973This is not poop! Ben was eating trail mix in the car and dropped some chocolate chips on his seat. I guess they melted and then he sat in it 😦 We don’t know when it happened or how long he was walking around like this…IMG_0970

Ben’s Random Comment of the Day:

Ben: “The Panda is the direct opposite of everything I am.”

Me: “What do you mean?”

Ben: “He only eats vegetables and refuses to have sex.”

  1. LOL at the quote
That’s so cool you can go out and spend a day in the nation’s capitol.
I almost bought that froyo today but had a chocolate tooth instead. I definitely need to try it, though, especially since there’s no tart froyo retailers in New England

  2. Fun! Hubs and I loved doing that when we lived in Arlington. When it gets cold and dreary you should go see the botanical gardens (indoor). AMAZING! There is even a three story rain forest!

  3. Poopy pants! Oh dear! I hope it comes out.
Haha great comment. That was a fun fact about panda’s too, I didn’t know they were anti-sex. What a lame animal.

  4. I love DC because everything is FREE! Hunni and I went there on our belated HM of sorts because we were visiting family. It was a blast for us to just walk around and enjoy everything. He was like a kid in a candy store with how much he loves politics. Only downside is I beep at every metal detector because of my fused spine. :0( But it was worth it for him πŸ™‚

  5. I love visiting art museums and History, those are my fav to go too.

  6. My grandparents lived in MD before they retired. i spent so much time growing up in Baltimore and in DC – it is such a fun area!

  7. I LOVE Honeycrisps…they finally came back into season…and are my favorite way to go over budget! πŸ™‚

  8. Have you checked out the American Indian Museum yet? Not too much as far as exhibits are concerned, but it has the best cafe of all the Smithsonian museums! So many varieties of food from South America, the Great Plains, the Northwest Coast and more. It’s a little overwhelming at first, but worth a try πŸ™‚ And yes, we may have just gone there for the food…and a couple exhibits ;p
