I have a drinking problem

My name is Monica, and I have a drinking problem.

I drink soooo much. Not necessarily alcohol (okay sometimes), but liquids in general. Drinking 2 cans of La Crotch is totally normal for me with a meal (previously that would be diet Coke). I also drink a lot of water. Since I want to be a hippie and save the world, I should try to save water and drink more vodka. Does anyone else feel like they drink a lot?

My belly – I wasn’t hungry for a snack around my normal snack time. This intuitive eating thing is really weird. I kept questioning, like every 5 minutes, Am I hungry now?…How about now? …Now? Finally, after about a half an hour I ate my yogurt/pumpkin butter/cereal mix. dscn6802I don’t think I was that hungry yet, but I have stuff to do after work and would be ravenous when I got home without a snack…

My new bathing suit

I bought a bathing suit to inspire me to get it together & drop some lbs. I figured the reality of trying it on would make me realize I have a beach vacation coming up in 3 months!  I was going to post a pic of me in it as a “Before” and hopefully lose some weight so I could redeem myself with an “After” picture, but I thought this would be more fun…

gaze-at-your-own-mortality-5-dollarsMy ridiculously difficult half mary schedule called for me to do speed work with 1.5mile repeats. Nope. I can barely do 800m right now. So, that’s what I did – a few 800m and a cool down. I am glad that I am finally incorporating some speed work in my life because all I ever do is – slow & steady 4 to 6 milers 4 days a week and that gets boring. Maybe I will eventually be able to change up the speed work. Hey, it’s like I was saying last night – one step at a time!

I topped my oats with a crumbled Kashi Crunch bar and some PB. My oats have been just okay lately. I need to change it up!dscn6793

One step at a time

I have so much to do for the wedding, work and other errands that it is very overwhelming!

And I have so much to do to work on my issues with overeating.  I am still on the beginning of Intuitive Eating, but already find it so insightful. There are 10 principles to intuitive eating. All of the steps make so much sense and I know it’s exactly what I need! It’s just so hard to change habits that I’ve had for years. One step at a time I guess…

I was dragging by lunch so I had a diet coke. I have cut back significantly, but sometimes I will drink a diet soda. dscn6770

My afternoon snack was the world’s best strawberries (and they should be for how much I paid for them!) and yogurt/pumpkin butter/granola.dscn6773

When I got home I was hungry and there was fresh guacamole & chips on the counter. I had many chips with guac before I changed and took a quick walk with the dogs.

When I got back I had a bean&cheese burrito with asparagus. dscn6789

It was stuffed with black beans, cheese, salsa and more guac 🙂dscn6790

I ate some grapes for dessert, which isn’t horrible, but I was already full.

Then, I did random snacking on handfuls of cereal & other random crap, which makes me realize I need to re-read those Intuitive Eating principles! I’m gonna do that now and go to sleep. See you tomorrow.
